Job summary

University of Virginia seeks a Computer-Based Testing Facility Director to lead a growing university testing service from a pilot to a sustainable program. You will coordinate with the Provost’s Office, ITS, and participating schools to ensure effective exam operations and accommodations.

You will oversee scheduling, space management, staffing, and budgeting, while partnering with faculty, students, and IT to advance accessibility and academic integrity across assessment platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years in higher education or academic testing environments.
• Experience managing facilities and testing operations.
• Experience collaborating with faculty and IT.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Testing Facility as it evolves from a pilot into a sustainable university assessment service.
• Advance core commitments to excellence in teaching, academic integrity, access, and evidence-based assessment.
• Serve as the primary operational liaison to the Provost’s Office, ITS, and participating schools.
• Communicate with SDAC leadership to ensure appropriate university supports for testing accommodations.
• Engage faculty and student advisory groups on operations and planning.
• Lead expansion planning of services and manage the Testing Facility budget.
• Oversee centralized exam scheduling and staffing for all facility spaces.
• Manage Testing Facility staff, proctors, and payroll using Workday.
