Job summary

Xcel Energy in Minneapolis seeks a Director of Compensation to design and lead broad-based and executive compensation programs. You will align pay strategies with the Total Rewards framework, manage compliance with FLSA, 409A, and pay equity, and partner with HR, Finance and Legal to optimize costs and talent value.

You will build and mentor a high-performing team of compensation consultants, oversee annual incentive plans and LTI programs, and serve as a trusted advisor on compensation trends

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in compensation.
• At least 5 years in a leadership or strategic role.
• Experience with executive compensation and LTI programs.
• Strong knowledge of federal/state compensation laws.
• Certified CCP or GCP valued.

Responsibilities

• Direct design and administration of broad-based compensation programs.
• Lead regulatory compliance and governance activities.
• Oversee executive compensation and LTI program administration.
• Develop leadership and mentorship within the compensation team.
