Job summary

Northeastern University, Boston campus, seeks a Director of Outreach and Programming to develop, coordinate, administer, and evaluate community programs run by the Office of City & Community Engagement. You will collaborate with CCE staff to foster partnerships that connect, educate, and engage residents, businesses, and organizations throughout the network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master’s degree preferred with 5+ years of relevant experience in community/civic engagement, program management and strategic planning for a higher education institution or nonprofit organization.
• Be idea-driven with the ability to take creative initiative and demonstrate follow-through.
• Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with different personalities.
• Problem-solve and resolve conflicts and disputes in a professional manner.
• Be relationship-oriented and results-driven; communicate effectively to various internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Generate and facilitate partnerships and programs that respond to the needs, interests, and concerns of residents, businesses, and other community organizations surrounding Northeastern’s Boston campus.
• Refine existing, and/or establish new systems, processes and tools for tracking, collecting and sharing outcomes and knowledge generated by those programs and partnerships.
• Oversee program creation and development, with a focus on establishing new and innovative pathways for internal and external collaboration.
• Regularly attend relevant events and other engagement activities that foster deeper engagement with the local community and stakeholders.
• Assist in developing an external identity for Northeastern’s community programs.
• Assist in developing the outreach strategy for the Northeastern Crossing and future community-specific spaces on campus.
• Support CCE staff in planning and implementing new & existing programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
