Job summary

Northeastern University in Boston seeks a Director of Outreach & Programming to lead the Office of City & Community Engagement. You will develop, coordinate, administer, and evaluate community programs and partnerships that connect residents, businesses, and organizations around the campus.

You will work with CCE leadership to set goals and budgets, oversee program creation, track outcomes, and expand Northeastern Crossing and other community spaces.

About the Opportunity

Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Community Relations,the Director of Outreach and Programming will develop, coordinate,administer, and evaluate community programs and special projectsconducted by the Office of City & Community Engagement (CCE) atNortheastern University. In collaboration with the CommunityRelations and Programs Manager and other CCE staff, this positionwill be an active and responsible contributor to our local andcampus communities by fostering collaborative relationships andpartnerships that connect, educate, and engage people andorganizations throughout our network. The Director of Outreach andProgramming will lead CCE's programs and partnership initiativeswith three focus areas: hosting residents and community groups oncampus, managing small business and neighborhood associationpartnerships, and delivering programs and offerings open to thepublic, both on and off campus.

The position involves collaborating with various stakeholders andcultivating existing relationships to work towards Northeastern'svision of becoming a model institution for community engagement.This position also works closely with CCE leadership to set andmeet the department's budget and program oriented goals.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
• 5+ years of relevant experience in community/civic engagement,community development, program management and strategic planningfor a higher education institution or nonprofit organization

Key Responsibilities

• Generate and facilitate partnerships and programs that respondto the needs, interests, and concerns of the residents, businesses,and other community organizations surrounding Northeastern's Bostoncampus.
• Refine existing, and/or establish new systems, processes andtools for tracking, collecting and sharing the outcomes,measurements and knowledge that is generated by those programs andpartnerships.
• Oversee program creation and development, with a focus onestablishing new and innovative pathways for internal and externalcollaboration.
• Regularly attend relevant events and other engagementactivities that foster deeper engagement with the local communityand other stakeholders in the community engagement space.
• Assist in developing an external identity for Northeastern'scommunity programs.
• Assist in developing the outreach strategy for the NortheasternCrossing and future community-specific spaces on campus.
• Support CCE staff in planning and implementing new &existing programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Expected Hiring Range:

$60,315.00 - $85,192.50
