Job summary

Insurance Office of America is seeking a Director, Commercial Lines to lead national operations and drive excellence across brokerage services. The role partners with leadership to standardize workflows, optimize processes, and support growth initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings 5–7+ years in Commercial Lines leadership, active P&C license, and CPCU/CIC designations. Remote-first with occasional onsite as needed, aligned to Central Time Zone business hours.

Qualifications

• Active Property & Casualty license required.
• CPCU and/or CIC designation (or equivalent) preferred.
• 5–7+ years of Commercial Lines operational leadership experience in a large insurance brokerage/agency.
• Strong expertise in Commercial P&C agency operations, workflows, servicing models, and process optimization.
• Experience with workflow standardization, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing sustainable process improvements.
• Strong workforce planning, capacity modeling, and resource management experience.
• Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and operational integration initiatives.
• Applied EPIC experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.
• Proven ability to influence leaders and drive results in a matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Commercial Lines strategy across divisions and regions.
• Identify operational challenges and implement scalable solutions for efficiency and quality.
• Establish standardized Commercial Lines workflows and best practices.
• Lead process improvements to boost productivity and reduce variation.
• Analyze root causes and drive corrective actions for sustainable gains.
• Plan workforce capacity to support growth and excellence.
• Coordinate with Managed Services to optimize resource utilization.
• Provide national SME guidance on agency operations and workflows.
• Assist with M&A integration through planning and execution of standardization.
• Collaborate with producers and operations to drive engagement and results.
• Promote effective use of EPIC, workflows, and reporting tools to improve performance.
• Utilize metrics and BI to evaluate effectiveness and guide improvements.
• Lead change initiatives and ongoing professional development in the organization.
• Champion IOA values in all interactions.
