Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking a Director, Claims and Loss Prevention to lead enterprise claims management and loss prevention across a multimodal network. You will own the claims lifecycle, drive reductions in frequency/severity, and partner with Operations, Legal, Risk and Insurance to ensure defensible decisions.

You will guide geographically dispersed, on‑site teams, embed preventive controls, and translate data into actionable prevention strategies while reporting to executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Supply Chain, Risk Management, or related field.
• Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end claims lifecycle across LTL, brokerage, and multimodal ops.
• Establish and enforce consistent claims handling standards and escalation.
• Reduce claims frequency and severity through governance and alignment.
• Ensure defensible decisions with liability, insurance, and Carmack rules.
• Partner with Legal and Risk on high‑exposure claims and litigation.
• Translate claims data to targeted loss prevention initiatives.
• Identify systemic risks in lanes, hubs, and commodity exposure.
• Lead HVHR governance and enhanced handling controls.
• Embed preventive controls from pickup to delivery.
• Coach remote teams and build bench strength; set KPIs.
• Own analytics, dashboards, and executive reporting.
• Present ROI‑based recommendations to leadership.
• Maintain SOPs, audits, and corrective actions; handle other duties.
