Job summary

The Baldwin Group is seeking a Director, Benefits Technology in the California market to lead the technology team that supports Employee Benefits and HRIS systems. You’ll guide strategic initiatives, manage vendor relationships, and drive improvements in benefit technology platforms to enhance client service and operational efficiency.

You will supervise technology projects, mentor staff, and ensure security and scalability of systems while maintaining robust client relations and industry

Qualifications

• Minimum five years working experience with benefit administration systems, payroll systems and/or HRIS
• Excellent client relations skills and ability to diffuse tense situations
• Experience configuring an HRIS database
• Advanced knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
• Proficient Excel skills: pivot tables, lookups, data manipulation
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Effective presentation skills (verbal & written)
• Ability to learn insurance company and firm software systems
• Growing in benefits product knowledge
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Collaborate well within a team environment
• Florida 2-15 License as required by state law
• Demonstrate firm culture values

Responsibilities

• Lead EBG Technology Team and activities
• Develop and drive EBG Technology annual goals
• Communicate decisions and rationale clearly
• Foster open feedback through regular meetings
• Provide ongoing coaching and training to team
• Oversee EBG Technology systems, infrastructure and administration
• Develop long-term strategic plan for scalable growth
• Manage project management processes and vendor support
• Propose solutions to resolve complex issues
• Oversee EDI with insurers, HRIS and payroll systems
• Negotiate fees for systems and services
• Represent organization at national meetings
• Research new products and trends in data, databases and security
• Align technology with business value and process improvements
• Encourage prioritization and timely delivery of requirements
• Promote firm culture and client satisfaction
• Identify opportunities to improve firm and processes
