Job summary

Motorola Solutions, through its subsidiary Silvus Technologies, seeks a Director of Business Development for the U.S. Army. The role focuses on horizon scanning, opportunity shaping, and driving multi-year captures across end users, primes, and PM offices.

You will build deep relationships within Army Acquisition offices, influence technical requirements, and lead cross-functional teams from qualification to award, with travel up to 50% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with 8+ years in relevant field.
• 5+ years in defense sales or business development focused on U.S. Army.
• Proven track record of capturing complex, long‑cycle DoD programs.
• Experience building relationships within U.S. Army Acquisition offices and with prime contractors.

Responsibilities

• Own the capture process for large-scale, multi-year U.S. Army programs.
• Identify and maintain relationships with all buying influences (PEOs/PMs, primes, OEMs, end users).
• Shape requirements with customers to position Silvus MN‑MIMO solutions.
• Manage full lifecycle of long‑cycle pursuits from identification to award.
• Collaborate with Market Development Executive and Account Sales for transition of landed programs.
• Monitor market trends and funding priorities to inform capture strategy.
• Travel up to 50% to engage customers and advance goals.
• Perform other duties as needed.
