Job summary

Merck is seeking a Director, AI-Ready Digital Engagement Innovation to lead AI Discoverability and shape a future-forward content architecture for US Market digital properties. You will drive governance, metadata standards, and piloting of AI-ready strategies to ensure trusted, machine-readable brand content.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in marketing, business analytics, digital media and analytics or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in digital strategy, search strategy (SEO/AEO) or content strategy.
• Understanding of AI-driven search paradigms (AEO, GEO, LLM) and governance of content for AI.
• Experience in regulated industries (pharma/healthcare) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and champion AI search and discoverability across US Market digital touchpoints.
• Establish content architecture, taxonomy, and metadata standards for branded/unbranded assets.
• Monitor AI/discovery trends and roadmap rapid pilots with stakeholders across functions.
• Govern governance frameworks to ensure brand safety, compliance, and factual accuracy in AI environments.
• Own performance metrics for AI presence (LLM citations, discovery share, schema adoption).
• Collaborate with leaders across Digital Engagement Operations, Brand Marketing, Legal, and Compliance.
