Job summary
Merck & Co. seeks an Associate Director, Digital Operations Agentic Intelligence to lead AI-enabled data foundations and intelligent agents within DSCS Digital Technologies.
This senior role balances technical leadership with business acumen, guiding roadmaps, architecture, governance, and hands-on delivery. The position requires 7+ years of experience in data/BI/AI, deep Python/SQL skills, and strong leadership to drive adoption, value realization, and scalable patterns across enterprise data
Qualifications
- 7+ years in data engineering, software development, BI, data science, AI/ML or related field with leadership experience.
- Hands-on Python and SQL, with ability to architect and review data solutions and code.
- Deep knowledge of data pipelines, semantic layers, metadata, and scalable data products; experience with Databricks/Dataverse.
Responsibilities
- Shape the agentic intelligence agenda and translate business value into a prioritized roadmap.
- Own end-to-end programs for governed data products, dashboards, automations, and intelligent agents.
- Set engineering standards, CI/CD, and governance to scale solutions across DSCS.
- Lead teams, coach talent, and partner with business leaders to realize value.
- Ensure secure, compliant deployment and measurable outcomes aligned with KPIs.
