Job summary
Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Director of Workforce Planning to lead the enterprise planning cycle, including the long-range plan, annual budget, headcount forecasts, and reporting. The role collaborates with Finance, People Analytics, HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, and Strategic Sourcing to provide a consistent view of labor demand, supply, and cost across employee, contingent, and digital labor.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred.
- Typically 10+ years of experience in workforce planning, people analytics, or related fields.
- Experience leading enterprise planning processes at scale; pharma/biotech experience a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead the enterprise workforce planning cycle, including long-range plan and annual budgets.
- Partner with Finance, People Analytics, HRBPs, Talent Acquisition and Strategic Sourcing to align planning and staffing.
- Develop scenario models, affordability guardrails, and governance for workforce decisions.
- Translate AI-enabled models into actionable workforce plans and dashboards.
