Job summary

Manulife Financial is seeking a Director of Quality Engineering to lead enterprise QE maturity efforts, embed quality earlier in the SDLC, and accelerate AI-enabled engineering practices. You will guide workforce transformation toward automation engineering and shared ownership of quality outcomes, partnering across platform engineering and business teams.

You will establish QE standards, governance, and roadmaps, modernize testing, and scale AI-assisted QE across the engineering organization,

Qualifications

• Experience in quality engineering transformation and governance across multiple teams.
• Experience applying AI-enabled testing, automation, analytics to improve quality and productivity.
• Strong communication, coaching, and mentoring skills for senior leaders and diverse audiences.
• Experience with third-party QE governance, vendor engagement, and capacity planning.

Responsibilities

• Define the vision, strategy, standards, and operating model for QE across teams.
• Lead the Quality Engineering Center of Excellence with governance, standards, and assets.
• Define QE maturity models and multi-year transformation roadmaps across engineering teams.
• Modernize testing practices to improve quality and accelerate delivery.
• Develop workforce transformation to automation engineering and AI-enabled quality.
• Expand AI-assisted engineering across test generation, defect analysis, and autonomous testing.
• Define quality frameworks for AI-enabled business applications and monitoring.
• Evaluate trends and technologies to improve speed, coverage, reliability, and productivity.
• Define enterprise QE tooling standards and adoption roadmaps.
