Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal’s Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) Technology Services team seeks a Director to lead AI-enabled engagements across the PE lifecycle, focusing on portfolio software engineering, product development, and technical delivery.

You will own scope, workplans, client relationships, and financial outcomes end-to-end, building AI-driven operating models, and guiding SDLC transformations, DevOps modernization, and governance for EBITDA uplift.

Qualifications

8–12+ years in software engineering leadership with hands-on operator roles.
Proven track record leading multi-workstream transformation programs with measurable outcomes.
Experience with PE-backed firms or PE-backed portfolio companies.
Experience managing senior client relationships at CTO/CEO level.

Responsibilities

Own the full engagement lifecycle from scoping to financial delivery.
Serve as primary contact for portfolio CTOs and PE partners.
Lead cross-functional teams across software, DevOps, platform engineering, and data/ML.
Translate engineering findings into EBITDA-focused narratives.
Identify AI use cases mapped to EBITDA improvements.
Develop AI-native operating models and roadmaps.
Establish governance and value tracking tied to engineering metrics.
Mentor Senior Associates and Analysts.
Contribute to business development and client pitches.
