Job summary

Ford Credit seeks a Director of Cloud & AI Infrastructure Operations to lead reliability, security, and cost-efficiency for a hybrid cloud and AI-enabled landscape. You will partner across engineering, security, and architecture teams to drive secure, production-ready solutions.

The role blends hands-on technical leadership with strategic governance, focusing on AI infrastructure adoption and responsible engineering practices, while guiding cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years experience in cloud infrastructure/platform engineering with strong hands-on GCP experience.
• Proven experience with container platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Designing secure cloud architectures including GCP networking, IAM, security controls.
• Experience delivering HA/DR across hybrid cloud/on-prem environments.
• Knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure concepts (LLMs, RAG, MCP, Agentic AI).
• Familiarity with AI development tools (Cursor, Claude) and modern dev workflows.
• Knowledge of Google AI/ML services (Gemini Enterprise, Vertex AI) and security for AI systems.
• Experience with security scanning tools (SAST, SCA, IaC, DAST, API).
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and ability to build cost/benefit cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for cloud platforms (GCP, Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Guide secure design patterns and implement secure cloud architectures.
• Lead HA/DR design across hybrid environments.
• Develop AI infrastructure solutions (LLMs, RAG, MCP) to improve IT operations.
• Promote secure use of AI-powered IDEs and AI development tools.
• Partner with security to implement controls for AI architectures.
• Embed security scanning into CI/CD and ensure compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and lead technical teams.
• Build business cases and present cost/benefit metrics to leadership.
• Mentor technical talent and act as escalation point for complex issues.
