Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Bridges and Tunnels seeks a Director of Facility Management for multiple off-hours positions at Randalls Island. The role leads 24/7 operations and maintenance, ensuring safe, efficient travel across key facilities in New York City.

Telework is possible one day per week. The position requires a strong background in facility management, long-term planning, and cross-department collaboration to maintain safety and reliability for thousands of customers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Minimum 10 years in facility management/transportation operations.
• Minimum 5 years in a managerial role in a large organization.
• Proficiency in MS Office and document management software.
• On-site availability for emergencies; able to work nights, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Manage 24/7 operations and maintenance staff across facilities.
• Coordinate staffing, security, traffic management, and safety.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents with mitigation measures.
• Plan and forecast staffing based on demand and labor contracts.
• Collaborate with other departments on capital and maintenance projects.
