Job summary

Damar Services, Inc. in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Resource Specialist to join our team. This role helps keep environments safe and supports direct care staff across programs, including our Children's Residential location at 6067 Decatur Blvd.

The position offers hands-on crisis management, training in verbal intervention and physical management, and opportunities to build leadership skills while making a difference in clients' lives.

Qualifications

• Six months of full-time experience working with behavioral challenges and/or individuals identifying with the DD/ID population.
• Must be able to provide formal proof of education required for the position.
• Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license (for driving positions) and driving record meeting insurance requirements.
• No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and manage crisis situations for all Damar programs, taking leadership in de-escalation and intervention.
• Initiate special precautions for clients with high risk behavior criteria.
• Provide client and staff support, informal training, and crisis management.
• Understand behavior support plans for high-acuity clients.
