Job summary

Damar Services is seeking a Direct Support Technician in Indianapolis, IN to provide daily care and behavioral support for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role offers on-site, full-time hours with shift options and opportunities to contribute to meaningful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 to work in our Children's Residential program; Direct Support Technician roles exist for ages 18-21.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record meeting insurance requirements.
• No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
• Pre-employment drug screen and physical required.
• Must pass background screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care, supervision, and support to clients.
• Help clients develop daily living, self-help, and social skills.
• Support positive social behaviors and interactions.
• Follow individual behavior-management plans.
• Respond to and manage crisis situations.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment.
• Lead or supervise recreational and life-enrichment activities.
• Recognize safety concerns and emergencies and respond.
• Complete daily documentation professionally and promptly.
• Collaborate with staff to deliver consistent, individualized care.
