Job summary

Damar Services, LLC in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Specialized Initiatives Technician to join our mission-driven team. The IGH program provides care across multiple locations, with day and night shifts and a focus on supervision, crisis management, and skill-building for individuals with I/DD.

You will support clients, transport residents, assist with medications, and promote safety, dignity, and independence while following individualized plans.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 to work in our Children's Residential program.
• Be able to provide formal proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).
• Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions.
• Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor clients, manage crises, and support clients in achieving their maximum potential.
• Provide services to clients across Indianapolis and surrounding communities.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment, including housekeeping tasks.
• Transport residents using Damar vehicles or own vehicles.
• Follow physician’s orders to administer medications.
• Help clients develop basic academic, behavioral, communication, social, self-help, daily living, and social skills.
• Implement behavior management plans to reduce maladaptive behaviors and promote appropriate social behaviors.
• Report any violations of client rights promptly.
