Job summary

Vera French Community Mental Health Center is seeking a Direct Support Supervisor to oversee clients and staff in three habilitation waiver homes. The role includes writing assessments and service plans, supervising staff, and coordinating on‑call coverage.

Reports to the Supported Community Living Manager and ensures compliance with documentation and billing requirements. You will supervise direct support staff, participate in hiring, and provide job‑specific training.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a human services field required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Experience with persons with mental illness and/or co-occurring substance use disorders required.
• Valid driver's license with a driving record
• Personal vehicle coverage of at least $100,000 per person / $300,000 per accident
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical with a drug and alcohol screen

Responsibilities

• Facilitate admission and discharge procedures for assigned clients.
• Write annual assessments, service plans, daily documentation, and other client documentation.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and meets billing criteria for all staff under supervision.
• Participate in hiring, supervision, and evaluation of direct support staff.
• Provide training and orientation to staff; participate in monthly All Staff meetings.
• Rotate on-call responsibility to ensure adequate support and coverage.
• Communicate regularly with staff regarding client needs.
• Schedule medical/psychiatric appointments and arrange transportation as needed.
• Report personnel issues to the Manager and intervene as directed.
• Manage Medicaid and other benefits and payment tiers for assigned caseload
• Manage client funds and petty cash for VF properties
