Waypoint Maine, Inc. is seeking Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in residential and community settings across the Western Region of Maine.

The DSP role emphasizes dignity, respect, and promoting independence. Responsibilities include developing skills for community participation, documenting outcomes, coordinating with therapists and families, providing personal care, transportation, and ensuring safety.

Aufgaben

• Support individuals to develop skills that promote independence and full participation in their community.
• Develop a collaborative rapport with participants and cultivate a safe and supportive relationship to plan and engage in activities aligned with their interests and personal goals.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, including electronic health records, progress notes, treatment plans, positive support plans, and incident reports.
• Assist with personal care tasks (e.g., bathing, dressing, toileting) ensuring dignity and privacy.
• Provide transportation to appointments, activities, family visits, and other approved destinations.
• Follow recommendations from professional providers (e.g., OT, PT, speech therapy) and Maine CRMA medication administration procedures.
• Mentor healthy eating, physical fitness, and overall wellness.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.
• Promote safety, maintain a clean and orderly home, and report safety or maintenance needs.
