Gateways to Change, Inc. is a Rhode Island non-profit dedicated to helping adults with developmental and physical disabilities in residential and community settings.

We are seeking dedicated Direct Support Workers to help individuals acquire and maintain daily living and social skills. You will provide in-home and community-based support, assist with goals, transport to appointments and activities, and help with daily living tasks while fostering safe, supportive relationships.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and current insurance, registrations & inspection.
• Criminal background check with no disqualifying offenses.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide In-Home and Community Based support to individuals.
• Assist individuals with achieving goals in the home and local community.
• Transport individuals to medical appointments, personal shopping, and recreation activities.
• Assist in toileting, dressing, and hygiene.
• Administration of medication.
• Cultivate safe and supportive relationships.
• Be creative, organized, and efficient.
• Work independently and with staff.
