Gateways to Change, Inc. is seeking dedicated Direct Support Workers to help adults with disabilities develop daily living and social skills in home and community settings.

The role offers in-home and community-based support across Rhode Island, with the chance to impact daily living and social participation. Responsibilities include providing transportation to appointments and activities, assisting with personal care and medication, and fostering safe, supportive relationships.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and existing insurance, registrations & inspection.
• Must provide a criminal background check with no disqualifying offenses.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide In-Home and Community Based support to individuals
• Assist individuals with achieving a variety of goals in the home and local community
• Transport individuals to medical appointments, personal shopping, and recreation activities
• Assist in toileting, dressing, and hygiene
• Administration of medication
• Cultivate safe and supportive relationships
• Be creative, organized, and efficient
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and bring fun to the job
• Working independently and with staff
