Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS) is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide person-centered care and support in a residential setting in Rochester, MN. You will build relationships, assist with daily living activities, and help people stay active in the community.

No prior education required; training is provided. Strong communication and a valid driver's license are important for success in this role.

Qualifications

• No prior experience or formal education required; training provided.
• Comfort with basic computer use to document care and stay connected with the team.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• A valid driver's license and safe driving record; able to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene, meals, household support/cleaning, and transportation.
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
• Advocate for people with identified needs' rights, needs, and preferences.
• Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed.
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
• Residential group home setting supporting up to 4 people with identified needs.
