Job summary

The Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Direct Support Professional to empower individuals through person-centered care in a residential setting. You will build relationships, assist with daily living activities, and support community participation and independence.

Shifts include 12-5 and 2-10. Compensation starts at $16.00/hour with a potential raise after six months and a $1,500 hiring bonus; paid training and career growth are offered in a values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Caregivers welcome; training provided.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• DHS background check clearance.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships providing guidance, encouragement, and support
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene needs, meals, household support/cleaning, and transportation
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills
• Advocate for people with identified needs' rights, needs, and preferences
• Monitor health and wellbeing and report changes as needed
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings
