Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS) is looking for a Direct Support Professional to help people with identified needs live with dignity through person-centered care. You’ll build relationships, assist with daily living activities, and support community involvement in a residential setting with up to four individuals.

No prior experience required; training provided. A valid driver’s license and ability to pass a DHS background check are essential.

Qualifications

• No prior experience or formal education required.
• Willingness to complete required training and support.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene, meals, household support/cleaning, and transportation.
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
• Advocate for people’s rights, needs, and preferences.
• Monitor health and well‑being and report changes as needed.
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
• Residential group home setting supporting up to 4 people with identified needs.
• Collaborative, mission‑driven team focused on dignity, respect, and inclusion.
