Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS) is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help individuals pursue their goals through person-centered care. You will build relationships, provide daily living assistance, and support community involvement.

No prior experience is required as training is provided. The position offers a starting wage of $16.00 per hour, potential raise to $16.50 after six months, a $1500 hiring bonus, and benefits for those working 30+ hours.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; training provided.
• Comfort with basic computer use to document care.
• Ability to read and write in English for clear communication.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; pass Motor Vehicle Check.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships and provide guidance, encouragement, and support.
• Assist with daily living activities (personal care, hygiene, meals, household tasks, transportation).
• Support community involvement and independent living skills; advocate for rights and preferences.
• Monitor health and report changes as needed; complete documentation.
• Participate in training and team meetings.
