Job summary

Evergreen Presbyterian Ministries, Inc. seeks a Direct Support Professional I to assist individuals with daily living tasks, health needs, and community involvement.

This as-needed, part-time role supports various locations and requires compassionate care and documentation adherence. You will help with meals, finances, transportation, and personal care, while maintaining safety and reporting any maintenance or care concerns to supervisors.

Qualifications

• Effectively read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
• Valid driver’s license preferred for insurance purposes.
• Meet state requirements including good standing with abuse/neglect registry.
• Learn basic computer skills (log in, input data, timesheets).
• Prior experience as a DSP or in caregiving capacity.
• Must be at least 18 (non-driver) or 21 (driver).

Responsibilities

• Maintain health and welfare of individuals served.
• Assist with medications and treatment plans as needed.
• Support home care, cleaning, and reporting maintenance needs.
• Assist with budgeting, banking, shopping, and money management.
• Support daily activities: meals, transport, housekeeping, hygiene.
• Prepare meals and procure home supplies as requested.
• Complete required documentation per policies and laws.
• Identify and defuse behavioral triggers to ensure safety.
• Provide transportation in company or personal vehicle as needed.
• Care for individuals while in hospital settings.
