Job summary

WellLife Network in New York is seeking Direct Support Professionals to help individuals with developmental disabilities live as independently as possible. The DSP provides hands-on care, daily living support, and advocacy in homes and communities.

The role covers personal care, health and wellness, mobility assistance, behavioral support, and community engagement, with documentation and collaboration with health teams. A High School diploma is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental or behavioral health disabilities preferred.
• Ability to perform personal care tasks with dignity and respect.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care and daily living support to individuals in homes and communities.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, and safe home environments.
• Administer medications as directed and accompany medical appointments as needed.
• Support mobility and accessibility, including transfers and mobility aids.
• Implement behavioral and emotional support strategies respectfully.
• Plan and participate in recreational, educational, and social activities.
• Document daily notes, progress, incidents, and coordinate with the care team.
