Job summary

YAI seeks compassionate direct support staff to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily living, learning, and community activities. You will provide personal care, promote safety, and document progress while using person-centered plans.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and able to meet essential physical demands.
• Effective written and oral communication for billing and tracking.
• Willingness to work with people with I/DD and show empathy and compassion.
• Ability to develop professional relationships aligned with YAI’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals to maximize strengths and meet personal goals.
• Provide emotional support and facilitate social activities.
• Ensure safety and supervision across settings, following BSPs/IPOPs and plans.
• Document services accurately for billing and records using electronic health records.
• Operate with person-centered thinking and de-escalation techniques as needed.
• Provide transport support and assist with ADLs and dietary needs.
