Job summary

YAI seeks dedicated Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across settings. You will help with daily activities, implement Behavior Support Plans, and maintain accurate progress notes in electronic records.

The role emphasizes patient, respectful communication, safety, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Attendance at trainings and certifications is required, with potential shift coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to meet physical demands including lifting and standing.
• Strong written and oral communication for billing and records.
• Willingness to work with individuals with I/DD with empathy and patience.
• Must obtain SCIP-R within 1 year of appointment.
• Must obtain additional program certifications (AMAP, CPR, etc.) within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in maximizing strengths, interests, and abilities.
• Provide supervision, safety, and support per plans and policies.
• Maintain documentation and data entry in electronic systems (DA/eMAR).
• Review and communicate changes in behavior to leadership and clinical teams.
• Participate in team meetings and coordinate with support staff.
• Follow HIPAA, OPWDD, and YAI policies and procedures.
