Job summary

YAI - Seeing beyond disability seeks compassionate staff to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across daily activities, safety, and community engagement. You will assist with ADLs, hygiene, meal planning, and mobility while documenting care and observing behavior changes for the clinical team.

Role requires empathy, patience, and strong communication. You will work in a high-energy, team-driven environment, following individualized service plans and crisis

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Able to meet essential physical demands (standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs).
• Strong written and oral communication for documentation and billing.
• Willingness to work with people with I/DD with empathy and patience.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Workday/DA systems.
• Must obtain SCIP-R within 1 year of appointment; additional certifications may be required.
• Ability to develop professional relationships aligned with YAI’s mission; remain calm in high-energy settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals to maximize strengths, interests and abilities.
• Provide personal care and assist with ADLs including hygiene and mobility.
• Administer medications as prescribed per guidelines.
• Support during meals, transportation, and community activities.
• Record observations and report changes to the clinical/leadership team.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapeutic environment.
• Collaborate with the team to implement person-centered plans and BSPs.
