Job summary

Monarch Healthcare seeks a Developmental Specialist to support individuals with mental health needs and developmental disabilities in North Carolina. You will assess goals, help build community relationships, and promote self-determination through person-centered strategies.

Shift patterns include every other weekend, with overnights as needed, and travel as required. Responsibilities include documenting progress, coordinating transportation, ensuring safety, and mentoring new staff.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with mental health diagnoses or developmental disabilities.
• Ability to foster advocacy and community integration.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to assist with daily living activities and household tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assess each person’s hopes and goals and provide supports to achieve them.
• Help individuals develop relationships in their community and with natural supports.
• Assist with participation in community activities aligned with interests.
• Protect and promote the rights of individuals and assist with advocacy efforts.
• Complete documentation, progress notes, and incident reports accurately.
