Job summary

Help at Home is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities, helping them live safely and with dignity.

You will follow each person’s support plan, assist with daily living activities, encourage community participation, document progress, and collaborate with the care team. Competitive pay, benefits, and training are included, with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a state-approved training program
• Demonstrated competency and a passing score on the required written competency test

Responsibilities

• Reading, understanding, and following each individual's Individual Support Plan
• Reporting updates, progress, and concerns to the IDD Program Specialist
• Assisting with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, grooming, hygiene, and transportation
• Encouraging participation in shopping, social events, appointments, and other community activities
• Supporting individuals as they work toward personal goals and greater independence
• Promoting personal choice, self-advocacy, dignity, and respect
• Accurately documenting services, activities, and progress
• Communicating with team members to provide consistent, high-quality support
