Job summary

Help at Home is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities.

You will help clients build daily living skills, pursue personal goals, and participate in community activities while receiving competitive pay, a $1,000 sign-on bonus for eligible new hires, health benefits, paid time off, training, and mileage reimbursement. Flexible scheduling is available to fit your needs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and meet at least one requirement: high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a state-approved training program, or passing a required competency test.
• Must pass background checks and in-service training.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with proof of insurance, vehicle registration, and inspection.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow each individual’s Individual Support Plan.
• Report updates, progress, and concerns to the IDD Program Specialist.
• Assist with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, grooming, hygiene, and transportation.
• Encourage participation in shopping, social events, appointments, and other community activities.
• Support individuals toward personal goals and greater independence.
• Promote personal choice, self-advocacy, dignity, and respect.
• Accurately documenting services, activities, and progress.
• Communicate with team members to provide consistent, high-quality support.
