Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a Direct Support Professional to promote health, safety and well-being for individuals with developmental disabilities. The role provides full-time hours and a starting hourly rate of $17.00–$18.00, depending on certifications and role.

Responsibilities include creating daily routines, assisting with personal care, meals, transport when needed, and documenting care in IPP.

Qualifications

• Direct Support Professional Certificate – DSP Year 1 & Year 2 (Must obtain within first 12 months of Hire)
• Obtain your RBT within the 1st Year of Employment
• First Aid/CPR & CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention (Preferred or willing to obtain)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a California Driver’s License
• Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.

• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs.
• Change clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary).

• Must be able to lift 30lbs.
• Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
