Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network is hiring a Direct Support Professional in Lancaster, CA. The role supports individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting health, safety and well-being while advocating for an improved quality of life.

The DSP will outline daily routines, assist with daily living activities, meals, and transportation as required. Required certifications include DSP Year 1/2 and RBT within the first year, with CPR/First Aid and CPI preferred or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Direct Support Professional Certificate awarded (DSP Year 1 & Year 2).
• RBT certification within 1st year of employment.
• First Aid/CPR & CPI training preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Must be at least 21 years old and able to drive.
• Background check required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop daily routines for clients as per Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs and wardrobe changes.
• Prepare meals and help with cleanup.
• Transport clients in company vans when needed.

Job Title: Direct Support Professional
Hourly Rate: $22.00- $27.00/hr. Depending on Certifications and Role

Here's What You'll Do:

The Direct Support Professional supports individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting their health, safety and well-being. Our Direct Support Professionals proudly serve as an advocate to improve the overall quality of life for our clients.

Essential Functions:

• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs.
• Change clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary).

Education and Experience:

• Direct Support Professional Certificate – DSP Year 1 & Year 2 (Must obtain within first 12 months of Hire)
• Obtain your RBT within the 1st Year of Employment
• First Aid/CPR & CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention (Preferred or willing to obtain)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a California Driver’s License
• Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 30lbs.
• Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
