Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network is seeking a Direct Support Professional (SAILS VII) in Bakersfield, CA. The role involves promoting clients' health, safety, and well-being and working full-time in a home/community-based services setting.

The DSP will implement daily routines, assist with personal care, meals, and transportation as needed, and pursue required certifications within stated timelines. Benefits are provided. Remote work is not available.

Qualifications

• DSP certificate to be obtained within first 12 months of hire
• RBT certification to be obtained within the 1st year of employment
• First Aid/CPR & CPI training preferred or willing to obtain

Responsibilities

• Outline and prepare daily routines for clients per Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs.
• Change clients' undergarments and/or clothing as needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with cleanup.
• Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans when necessary

Here's What You'll Do:

The Direct Support Professional supports individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting their health, safety and well-being. Our Direct Support Professionals proudly serve as an advocate to improve the overall quality of life for our clients.

Essential Functions:

• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs.
• Change clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary).

Education and Experience:

• Direct Support Professional Certificate - DSP Year 1 & Year 2 (Must obtain within first 12 months of Hire)
• Obtain your RBT within the 1st Year of Employment
• First Aid/CPR & CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention (Preferred or willing to obtain)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a California Driver's License
• Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 30lbs.
• Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
