Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a Direct Support Professional to promote health and safety for individuals with developmental disabilities, serving as an advocate to improve overall quality of life.

The role includes creating daily routines, assisting with personal care and meals, and transporting clients as needed. This is a full-time position with competitive benefits and a strong mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Direct Support Professional Certificate – DSP Year 1 & Year 2 (Must obtain within first 12 months of Hire)
• Obtain your RBT within the 1st Year of Employment
• First Aid/CPR & CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention (Preferred or willing to obtain)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a California Driver’s License
• Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.

Responsibilities

• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs.
• Change clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary).

Hourly Rate: $16.50- $17.50/hr. Depending on Certifications and Role

Here’s What You’ll Do:

The Direct Support Professional supports individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting their health, safety and well-being. Our Direct Support Professionals proudly serve as an advocate to improve the overall quality of life for our clients.
