Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network is seeking a Direct Support Professional in Bakersfield, CA to support individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting health and well-being in daily life. The role emphasizes advocacy and quality of life improvements in a home/community setting.

Responsibilities include planning routines, assisting with bathroom needs, meals, and transportation as needed; comprehensive training and certifications are offered, with required background checks and state licensing

Qualifications

• Direct Support Professional Certificate – DSP Year 1 & Year 2 (Must obtain within first 12 months of Hire)
• First Aid/CPR & CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention (Preferred or willing to obtain)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a California Driver’s License
• Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check

• Outline and prepare daily routines for clients' (visual and active) as written in the Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs.
• Change clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary).

Here’s What You'll Do:

TheDirect Support Professionalsupports individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting their health, safety and well-being. Our Direct Support Professionals proudly serve as an advocate to improve the overall quality of life for our clients.

Essential Functions:

• Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
