Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network in Bakersfield, CA, seeks a Direct Support Professional 1 to promote health, safety and well-being for individuals with developmental disabilities. PM shift: 4:00 PM–12:00 AM, full-time position, $17.00/hr depending on certifications and role.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily routines, meals, personal care, and client transport as needed. DSP certificates, RBT, CPR/First Aid, CPI preferred or to be obtained; must pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Direct Support Professional Certificate required (DSP Year 1 & 2).
• RBT certification within the first year of employment.
• First Aid/CPR & CPI training preferred or willing to obtain.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a California driver's license.

• Outline and prepare daily routines for clients as written in the Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs and personal care.
• Change clients' undergarments and/or clothing as needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with cleanup.
• Transport clients in company vans to their home or facility when required.

Here's What You'll Do:

The Direct Support Professional supports individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting their health, safety and well-being. Our Direct Support Professionals proudly serve as an advocate to improve the overall quality of life for our clients.

PM Shifts Needed only

Friday - Tuesday 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM

Essential Functions:

• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.
• Assist clients with bathroom needs.
• Change clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary).

Education and Experience:

• Direct Support Professional Certificate – DSP Year 1 & Year 2 (Must obtain within first 12 months of Hire)
• Obtain your RBT within the 1st Year of Employment
• First Aid/CPR & CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention (Preferred or willing to obtain)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a California Driver's License
• Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 30lbs.
• Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
