Job summary

The Center for Disability Services is seeking a Resident Counselor to join a 24/7 residential program in the Capital Region. Openings are at multiple locations; the role offers flexible FT/PT and Per Diem schedules, with weekend, evening, and overnight options.

The compensation reflects experience and program acuity with additional trainings possible. Responsibilities include supporting daily treatment, care, and services, promoting independence, and respecting residents’ choices and dignity

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a member of the person’s planning, implementation, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Assisting, promoting, and providing independence in daily treatment, care, and services of the people we support.
• Respect the person’s choices, lifestyle, and dignity to take informed risks.
• Help implement personalized habilitation services outlined in each care plan.
• Assist in acquisition of skills including basic activities of daily living, self-care, and household management.
