Job summary

The Center for Disability Services in the Capital Region is seeking a Resident Counselor to join a 24/7 residential program. Openings are at multiple locations; compensation is commensurate with experience and shift differentials.

The role focuses on assisting people we support with daily living, promoting independence, and respecting their choices. We offer flexible scheduling (FT, PT, Per Diem), health and dental insurance, tuition reimbursement, PTO, retirement matching, and other benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a member of the person’s planning, implementation, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Assist, promote, and provide independence in daily treatment, care, and services.
• Respect the person’s choices, lifestyle, and dignity to take informed risks.
• Help implement personalized habilitation services per care plan.
• Assist in acquisition of daily living skills and household management.
