Center for Disability Services in the Capital Region seeks a Resident Counselor to support individuals in their day-to-day living and growth. The role is part of a dynamic care team focused on promoting independence and dignity.

Openings are available at multiple locations with flexible options for full-time, part-time, and per diem. The organization emphasizes comprehensive benefits, ongoing training, and a commitment to a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a member of the person’s planning, implementation, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Assisting, promoting, and providing independence in the daily treatment, care, and services of the people we support. Respect the person’s choices, lifestyle, and their dignity to take informed risks.
• Help implement personalized habilitation services, which are outlined in their personalized care plan.
• Assist in acquisition of skills, including basic activities of daily living, self-care and household management for the people we support.

Rate of pay is commensurate on experience, Residential Program acuity, shift differentials and completion of additional trainings.
