Job summary

The Center for Disability Services in the Capital Region is seeking a Resident Counselor to support individuals in our programs. You will participate in planning, implementing, and coordinating care with an interdisciplinary team.

This role offers evenings and overnights, weekend options, flexible scheduling, comprehensive benefits, tuition reimbursement, and PTO in a 24/7 environment, with emphasis on independence, dignity, and person-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a member of the person’s planning, implementation, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Assist in daily treatment, care, and services of the people we support.
• Respect the person’s choices, lifestyle, and dignity to take informed risks.
• Help implement personalized habilitation services per personalized care plan.
• Assist in acquisition of skills, including basic activities of daily living, self-care and household management.
