Job summary

Lehigh Valley Companion Care Homes is seeking compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide care and support to individuals residing in our care homes in Whitehall, PA. The role involves assisting with personal care, promoting independence, and creating a safe, supportive environment.

The position is part-time (Mon & Thu 7:00-3:00) with paid training, opportunities for professional development, and a flexible scheduling structure after the initial three weeks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Experience in direct care is a plus but not required; training provided.
• Compassionate, patient and respectful approach to care.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Physical stamina to assist with transfers and other care tasks.
• Paid training and opportunities for professional development.

• Flexible scheduling options after completing three weeks of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Administer medications and document accurately following prescribed schedules.
• Provide emotional support and foster positive relationships with individuals.
• Facilitate and engage in recreational and community activities with individuals.
• Observe and monitor residents’ health conditions and report concerns.
• Implement individualized care plans and behavior support strategies.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.
• Complete and maintain accurate documentation and records of care.
