Job summary

Lehigh Valley Companion Care Homes is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide care for individuals with IDD in our care homes in Whitehall, PA. This part-time role covers Mondays and Thursdays from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

You will assist with personal care, document medications, and support residents in daily activities, while promoting independence in a safe setting. We offer paid training and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; certifications a plus.
• No prior direct care required; training provided.
• Compassionate, patient and respectful approach to care.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Administer medications and document accurately following prescribed schedules.
• Provide emotional support and foster positive relationships with our individuals.
• Facilitate and engage in recreational and community activities with the individuals.
• Observe and monitor residents’ health conditions and report any concerns.
• Implement individualized care plans and behavior support strategies.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.
• Complete and maintain accurate documentation and records of care.
