Job summary

Open Arms Care Corporation is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a community-based setting. The role includes fostering independence, coordinating activities, and documenting progress in ISP-driven plans.

Two weeks of paid training are provided, with full-time and part-time shifts (3:30-11:30, 11:30-7:30, 4-12, 12-8). Competitive pay, benefits, and growth opportunities accompany this position.

Qualifications

• CPR certification within 30 days of hire is required.
• Certified in Professional Crisis Management (PCM) within 60 days of hire is required.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift repetitively a minimum of 50 pounds; tasks may include lifting, repositioning, turning, bending, squatting, etc.
• High school graduate and/or GED preferred

Responsibilities

• Represent OAC in a positive and professional manner in community meetings, events and social functions.
• Provides day-to-day organization and implementation of activities that promote an organized and positive environment.
• Is able to independently make decisions regarding best practices, quality assurance, risk management and problem-solving.
• Demonstrates the ability to coach, teach, and mentor individuals in home management and personal independence.
• Engages clients in ongoing, meaningful active treatment and the ISP delivery of services.
