Job summary

Open Arms Care is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live more independently and build essential life skills. You’ll provide compassionate, hands-on care in a supportive home setting and help clients thrive in daily activities and community involvement.

The role emphasizes dignity, respect, and safety, with opportunities to grow professionally and earn paid training and certifications.

Qualifications

• Compassion and reliability.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• CPR (within 30 days of hire) & PCM certification (within 60 days)—training provided.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands‑on support, such as helping with bathing, dressing, meals, and mobility needs—always with dignity and respect.
• Support daily living and independence skills.
• Coach, mentor, and advocate for individuals.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and positive home environment.
• Transport and accompany individuals to appointments, outings, and community events.
• Engage clients in fun and meaningful activities within the home and in the community.
• Keep accurate records of progress and activities.
• Work as part of a supportive and mission‑driven team.
