Job summary

Open Arms Care Corporation is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily living activities, meals, mobility and personal care. You will build meaningful relationships and help individuals live more independent lives.

You will teach life skills, coach and advocate for those supported, and ensure a safe, welcoming home environment while transporting to appointments and activities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Able to lift and assist with mobility up to 50 lbs.
• CPR certification within 30 days and PCM certification within 60 days (training provided).
• Pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support with personal care, meals, mobility and daily living activities.
• Teach and encourage independence and life skills.
• Coach, mentor and advocate for the individuals we support.
• Create a safe, positive and welcoming home environment.
• Transport individuals to appointments, community activities and outings.
• Document progress and work closely with a supportive team.
