Qualifications

• Ability to speak and read English.
• Ability to make decisions and use good judgment in critical incidents.
• React quickly and calmly in an emergency situation.
• Demonstrate proper body mechanics, lifting techniques.
• Provide individual care and CPR/First Aid and SUR.
• Communicate effectively and train/mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Attends work regularly and may work specific/rotating shifts.
• Implements habilitation, behavior management and treatment programs.
• Teaches life skills such as feeding, dressing, and personal hygiene.
• Participates in development of the individual’s treatment plan.
• Observes and reports changes in condition and documents observations.
• Administers first aid and CPR as appropriate.
• Evacuates individuals during emergencies and may drive state vehicles.
• May mentor new DSPs and provide team leadership.
